Should i play thief

If it's too difficult, try Hard, etc. Of course, you should play on the difficulty level that suits you But playing on Expert probably true for Hard, too first is different from playing on Expert after playing on another setting. Some levels I've played on Expert twice, and I can tell there is quite a difference the second time.

Your first time through is very much different than when you replay. Part of the game is to discover the levels, guess where the patrol routes work while barely hearing or seeing footsteps, and so on Afterwards, you just know the place and the routes, and it's another type of gameplay experience.

Therefore, playing on Expert first is an awesome experience. But then again, choose what suits you. Just try hardest first. And remember you can change between levels, too. One bonus that playing on Expert provides is that you gain access to new areas of certain maps, such as in the Bonehoard, and are given new things to do.

For my money, that makes Expert worth the challenge. Actually, playing on Normal never really messed with hard does have a small advantage. I've noticed on some maps Garrett will talk more on easy. A good example of this is on the first level in Thief 2. You guys are right about Expert not being too frustratingly difficult for new players. I recommend Expert. Now System Shock 2 is quite another story. Impossible mode is a freakin' bitch! Try it as an OSA and see how fast you die. How delightful - haord of Expert thieves.

Any other is for the weak. But SS2 broke me. And Shogun is stupidly unfair, rather than challenging. Everyone else has already said this, so why am I posting it? Let's go ask Mr. Anyway - I'd say play at least the first few missions on Normal. You won't realize the full grandeur of the game until you've played the missions on Expert, but the learning curve can be pretty steep if don't start on normal. Frustratingly steep.

For me, "Hard" never held any appeal. It's not as easy as "Normal," but doesn't have all the extra areas and objectives as "Expert. Until you can get through most of a mission without causing a big ruckus. You might even want to play the whole game on Normal the first time through.

I did, anyway. Then switch to Expert to witness the power of this fully operational battle station. I learnt how to play thief by playing Bafford's on Expert, just after watching a friend of mine playing it first.

Which spoils it a little, I must admit. I thought the game was awesome. When I tried later on Normal, I found it boring. ThiefMaster 3, 8 8 gold badges 27 27 silver badges 57 57 bronze badges. I'm late to answering this, but get Thief Gold if you can! It is a rerelease of Thief: The Dark Project with a couple of extra levels they're pretty good, too. Ask yourself this question: If you didn't know of Thief 1, would you have felt that you had been missing something while playing Thief 2?

Is Thief: Deadly Shadows like the first games? Showing 1 - 15 of 25 comments. If you hated the first 2 you will hate deadly shadows it's smaller than the first two the city streets are claustrophobic. But how can you hate the first two they are masterpieces. I'm a big thief fan deadly shadows has a great story line tying up loose ends from the first two games. It's up to you if you want to play it. Originally posted by Shane Mullan :.
